Croftburn Allotments comprises 63 plots, made up of Full, Half and Micro Plots and nestles behind the residential area of Croftfoot. A peaceful sanctuary for our members to enjoy.
We are on the the south side of the city of Glasgow, with the majority of plot enjoying full sun most of the day. The Allotment is owned by Glasgow City Council and run by an elected Association Committee.
We are mostly surrounded by neighbouring housing and having a cordial relationship with the residents is of utmost importance to us.
The allotments take on a wide variety of organic growing styles and try to incorporate techniques that work with nature and not against it. We have a wild area and pond near the lower part of the Allotment and a green space at the top and on entering our gates.
As best as we can, we try to make available tools for communal use to those members working Micro Plots as they predominantly don’t have a shed to store items in.
Members pay a standard missive fee to GCC and an Annual Association fee which pays for communal facilities and improvements.
We intend on reintroducing our Annual Open Days in the future, where neighbouring residents are most welcome to visit us and purchase some home grown produce with all funds going to the running and upkeep of the allotment.
